HARRISBURG – Following House committee appointments for the 2017-18 legislative session, Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks) announced he has retained his seats on the House Consumer Affairs, Health, Local Government, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees.

Boback to Serve on Powerful State House Committees

HARRISBURG – Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) was this week called to serve on the House Appropriations, Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Tourism and Recreational Development committees. Additionally, Boback was named chair of the Appropriations subcommittee on Education; chair of the Tourism and Recreational Development subcommittee on Arts and Entertainment; and deputy chair of the House Majority Policy Committee for this session.

Peifer to Serve on High Profile State Committees

HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Peifer (R-Pike/Wayne) today announced that he will serve on the House Appropriations, Game and Fisheries, Finance and Transportation committees for the 2017-18 legislative session. Peifer was also named chief deputy whip for the House Republican Caucus.

Lee James (R-Venango/Butler) this week was assigned to serve on four House committees, which will ensure residents in the 64th Legislative District covering Venango and northern Butler counties will have a strong voice on issues related to taxes, energy development, municipal governments and the concerns of veterans.

HARRISBURG – This week, the House organized for the new legislative session, naming members to the committees they will serve in 2017-18. Rep. Chris Quinn (R-Delaware) was reappointed to the House Urban Affairs Committee on which he served last session. He will also serve on the House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee and the Commerce Committee.

Reese Announces Committee Assignments for 2017-18 House Session

HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Reese (R-Westmoreland/Somerset) today announced he will serve on several House committees in the 2017-18 Session. HARRISBURG – On Monday, Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) attended a press conference at the Capitol when leaders of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees announced a package of bills that are being introduced to assist Pennsylvania fire departments and EMS organizations. Brown is the sponsor of one of the bills included in this package.

McGinnis, Schemel and Others Reset Pennsylvania’s Pension Debt Clock

HARRISBURG – Joined by other pension reform advocates, Reps. John McGinnis (R-Blair) and Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) today took part in a news conference at the state Capitol to reset Pennsylvania’s Pension Debt Clock and call for a real solution to the public pension crisis. The clock, which is located in the East Wing Rotunda, was unveiled last year to bring attention to the Commonwealth’s growing and enormous pension debt.
