Rep. Brown Attends PA-HOPE Caucus Rally Calling for Action on Legislation to Address the State’s Drug Addiction Crisis

The PA HOPE (Heroin, Opioid, Prevention and Education) Caucus, of which Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) is a member, held a Day of Hope Rally on Tuesday at the Capitol Rotunda. The purpose of the rally was to call for action on legislation that will ensure Pennsylvanians have better access to high quality prevention and treatment programs for the disease of drug and alcohol addiction. Brown said lawmakers are working together this fall to find effective solutions to the public health crisis created by the growing abuse of prescription painkillers and other opioid drugs in the Commonwealth.

Rep. Kaufer Comments on Efforts to Educate, Prevent Opioid Addiction

Rep. Harper Renews Call to Crack Down on Turnpike Toll Violators

A recent state audit of the financially strapped Pennsylvania Turnpike has indicated a meteoric increase in the amount of uncollected toll revenues and a state lawmaker is now renewing her call for action on legislation to help crack down on EZPass toll violators. Bill sponsor Representative Kate Harper (R-Montgomery) said the Auditor General’s report shows nearly $43.2 million in tolls remain uncollected this year and her legislation would give the Turnpike Authority a much needed tool to enforce the collection of the delinquent funds now owed by habitual toll fare cheats.
